Citizens need to be more accountable. Calling 911 is a great start, but it's not the end all to end all," Jones said. "Criminals feel free to just run wild in my city, and I'm not going to stand for it." Superman can fly, Batman has his gadgets and Spiderman has his webs and supersharp senses. But Phoenix Jones, Red Dragon and Buster Doe have just their snazzy costumes and endless enthusiasm as they patrol Seattle's Capitol Hill. Red Dragon sports a red robe and a wooden sword. Buster Doe covers his face with a white scarf. Jones said he developed his costume, along with his alter ego's name, when his crime-fighting ways made him too recognizable. "When I started breaking apart fights, I had no outfit or moniker or symbol, and people started recognizing me in my everyday life. It got kind of dangerous and very uncomfortable," he said. "This suit is what people recognize, and when I take the suit off, I'm able to live as close to a normal life as possible until I put it back on and am ready to defend the people of Seattle." While Jones might not have Batman's Alfred Pennyworth to help him build cool new gadgets, he has adapted his car and costume to protect him. He wears a bulletproof vest and carries not just a Taser but a net gun and a grappling hook. His car has a computer in it that prints any e-mails sent to his superhero e-mail address.

After 8 minutes of trying to de-escalate the situation the cops arrive (this is a the 2:32 mark of your condensed video). Phoenix Jones tells the officer that he would like to leave and would like a police escort to the team's car. The cop agrees and then the suspect in orange says "F**k you ni**er! I'll bring this to your house!" At this point Phoenix agrees to mutual combat, the two shake hands and the fight commences. Right before Phoenix knocks out the suspect in orange, the suspect says "You know you don't want none of this". His friends confuse this with him trying to stop the fight and begin another verbal attack on Phoenix. The police officers move in and tell the suspect's friends that the suspect agreed to fight and in Washington that is legal but if either of them touch Phoenix without consent they will be arrested for assault. With the suspect in orange still unconscious Phoenix and his team continue patrol. "I RESPECT EVERYONE'S RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH. THE ONLY REASON I CONSENTED TO A FIGHT WAS BECAUSE HE SAID HE WOULD COME TO MY HOUSE. I TAKE MY FAMILY'S SAFETY VERY SERIOUSLY." On the way home Phoenix was contacted by 911 who said the original victims the man in orange had assaulted would like to press charges. Phoenix agreed to give them the video of their assault and not to play it for the public until the Seattle police could review it. **UPDATE** Phoenix Jones wants to remind you that while this video is funny, entertaining, and justified, it is most importantly legal: Seattle Municipal Code 12A.06.025. "My goal is to keep the people safe and to uphold the law. That is why I called the official authorities to report the crime and then later, under the SPD's supervision, engaged in legal mutual combat. I spend time studying the laws applicable to my nightly activities in addition to the time I spend in the gym training in combat." - PJ

January 24th - 26th, 1996 -Robert Lang Studios Seattle, WA, USA. SBD #1b - Quality: 7.5 0:00 Enough Space 2:29 Butterflies (cuts in) 5:13 I'm Alone Again 9:49 My Hero 14:03 Down In The Park (Gary Numan cover) Comfortable [Missing] SESSION INFORMATION: Foo Fighters toured extensively throughout 1995 and during occasional downtime or at sound checks the band would come up with ideas for new songs in an effort to create new material to rejuvenate the short set. After a brief Asian and Australasian tour in January 1996 they took advantage of a few free days and booked themselves into a studio to work on the new songs. This would also be the first time the four of them would play together in a studio so it was important to see how well they gelled together in that environment. They booked three days at the Robert Lang Studios in Seattle between January 24th and 26th, 1996, a studio Grohl had now become very familiar with. The first song recorded was titled 'Enough Space', a track the band had first played live in September of 1995, Grohl having decided the band needed an upbeat, hi-tempo opener for their sets. "There were only a couple of songs that we had that were really good openers, I thought 'god I need to write an opening song for us'" he recalled. In a later interview he noted that the song was written about the motion picture 'Arizona Dream', one of his favourite films. The next track recorded was 'Butterflies'. This was not a new track but one of Grohl's older compositions, first recorded as far back as 1992. He had also recorded it during the recording session for the first album and despite not releasing it the track was played by the band at several live shows in 1995. The version recorded during this session was unsurprisingly near identical to the October 1994 solo version. Next was another new track, 'I'm Alone Again'. It's not known where this song originated, whether it was an older Grohl composition, a song written recently during touring or even put together during this session itself. The track had never been documented at any other session previous to this and was also never recorded again. Another song born in live sound checks was recorded next, 'My Hero'. It had first featured in their live set as early as July 20th 1995 and although the track was fairly formed musically, most of the lyrics were mumbled or heavily repeated by Dave with no real verses to speak of. By the time of this session Grohl had worked on the lyrics and structurally it had also moved up a notch, quite similar to the version later recorded in 1997 and released on the album 'The Colour And The Shape'. The next track recorded was a cover song that had again featured heavily in their live sets during 1995, the Tubeway Army track 'Down In The Park'. The live versions up to this point did have quite a large flaw though, Grohl seemingly didn't bother to learn all of the lyrics and instead repeated the same first verse throughout the song. For this session he obviously went to the trouble of learning it all, matching the original version. A final new song was recorded at this session, 'Comfortable'. Little is known of the track other than it's a slow-tempo, soft song similar to the track released by the band many years later, 'If Ever'. A tape of the session containing all but 'Comfortable' was leaked by an employee of the studio and after being copied and traded eventually found its way around fans and onto the internet. The only track officially released by the band from the session, 'Down In The Park', was contributed to the 'X Files' TV show soundtrack CD 'Songs In The Key Of X' in late 1996.
